something I sent to a friend after coffee...

It was Romans 6 verse 4 from TNIV... We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

What I latched on to was the phrase "in order that". Seems like cause an affect.

The NAS reads... Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

Here the phrase is "so that". Still sounds very cause an affect to me.

I feel in my heart that baptism is a requirement for salvation. As I remember, you do not believe so.
